NSQ’s debut record takes you for a ride with moments of raw grit rock n’ roll on “You Can’t Stop the Rain” (akin to The Black Keys, or The Nude Party) before you’re hit with an electrifying pulse of high-energy indie on “Out On a Wire” (think Flipturn, The Moss). Things take a turn toward alt-country on “Shotgun,” laced with jam-band energy (maybe Zac Bryan meets Grateful Dead), and the ride closes out with introspective singer-songwriter moments on “All of Your Friends” (Medium Build, Dawes).
